Earthy Tales, 15 July – 20 August, 2017
Earthly Tales is Filomena Coppola’s first solo exhibition in Western Australia and was exhibited at Gallery 152 in York. It brings together three bodies of work to tell a story about migration, the role of the feminine, the environment and place. The works include Fish out of Water – Murray Cod, pastel drawings from the Wallflower Series and collages from the Fish out of Water intervention project which features the sardine painted on gum leaves. During this time she was Artist In Residence at Gallery 152 and was researching for a new project which will be exhibited in 2018.
